NB: Some of my earliest blogs no longer have their accompanying images but enjoy the copy!
Oh my gosh, you lot really went to town with your votes for the cosplay competition! When the number of people who had seen the album through Facebook reached 3000 in two days, I couldn’t believe it. This is, without a doubt, the biggest thing that’s happened on the blog to date, so a huge thanks to both the ten fabulous entrants, voters and MVM Entertainment (for providing the prizes).
Anyway, let’s skip to the exciting bit. Remember, the prizes up for grabs are a selection of MVM Entertainment’s latest releases. Third place gets to pick one, second place gets two and first gets all three! On top of that, these three cosplayers will be featured on the blog’s art page (which is always looking for submissions, by the way!)
In third place…
Laur Byrne as Date Masamune from Sengoku Basara! (51 votes)
It’s Sengoku Basara. It’s Date Masamune. What’s not to love? Not to mention, it’s pretty impressive Laura’s actually holding SIX SWORDS!
In second place…
Martine Tufte as Seth Nightroad from Trinity Blood! (68 votes)
This is one gorgeous cosplay! I can only guess how many weeks this piece of art took to make. I think my favourite part is that magnificent headpiece!
In first place…
Shaya Overell as Deidara from Naruto Shippuden! (116 votes)
I know Deidara isn’t really meant to be cute but ‘awwwh’! This entry was actually sent in by Shaya’s mum, Trudy. Clearly she is one cool mum if she’s got her daughter kitted out in cosplay – and look at those tongues! Well deserved, congrats to Shaya and Trudy!
Congratulations to Laura, Martine and Shaya and thanks for sharing your brilliant cosplays with everyone! The votes were really close in some places and everyone is worthy of a mention. The cosplay album will stay on the blog’s Facebook page because it’s just to good to take down! There’s also the short video of all the entries which, of course, you can check out at any time.
With that, ladies and gentlemen, here are the blog’s Top Ten cosplayers. It’s rather handy that that’s the number who happened to enter!
