MCM London Comic Con returns 27-29 October!

If you’ve been out and about in London recently, the chances are you’ll have seen several posters advertising the MCM London Comic Con. This event has become a firm staple in the unofficial geek calendar – whether it’s anime, films or video games – so you don’t need me to wax lyrical about why you should go. That said, for the sake of Japan fans, here’s a glance at what’s on that will likely be relevant to your interests…

Pop Asia

The PopAsia area offers a fusion of Japanese, Korean & east Asian culture. As well as an array of fashion, food, and curios the PopAsia stage also hosts its own stage featuring a mini cosplay masquerade and other entertainment. Featuring all your favourite companies including Nintendo and NIS America!

Japan geeks will be pleased with the big voice actor guest line-up this October! I’m particular excited about David Hayter (most well-known as the voice of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear series) making his MCM debut, as well as Yu-Gi-Oh!‘s Dan Green and Eric Stuart (Yugi/Atem and Seto Kaiba) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Bleach‘s Ichigo and Code Geass‘ Lelouch among many others). Also, not Japan related but Andrew Scott will be in attendance – yay!

Domo! World

NHK are bringing Domo World to London this October and at the NHK World’s stand, a brand-new series of Domo animation DOMO! WORLD will be presented to adoring fans on an 8K video, showcasing the ancient origin of the creature. A long, long time ago, in a world where TV, smartphones, schools, baseball, soccer and NHK WORLD had yet to exist, the Domo tribe lived a sometimes dangerous but fun and carefree life with the dinosaurs.

Anime shopping

As well as a wide range of anime to buy from All the Anime, Manga UK, MVM Entertainment and more – this is your chance to buy the amazing anime film Your Name by Makoto Shinkai ahead of its official release! Meanwhile, MangaUK will be selling some of their releases early at MCM, including Pokemon: Indigo League.

Thousands of cosplayers attend MCM Comic Con every year and London is the largest gathering of them all! There are a few competitions taking place – the Clara Clow Cosplay Cup UK Qualifier, the EuroCosplay Championships Grand Final and the regular cosplay masquerade.

Video games

MCM London Comic Con will once again host a plethora of games developers bringing their new & upcoming releases to you, their eager fans!
